The time has come. After months of work, countless early mornings, and bad weather keeping us from enjoying our motorcycles for weeks… the best time of the year is finally here! Holidays are calling, and at NG BRAKE DISC we want you to make the most of them. That’s why we’re proposing 6 spectacular summer destinations, both in Spain and abroad, so you can live your passion to the fullest during the best season of the year. Which one will you choose?

Route through Granada

We’re heading to Andalusia, down to the South. If you enjoy the heat and handle it well, this route is perfect for you. Our recommendation is to start and finish in the city of Granada. Enjoy its streets and its people, and then hop on your bike. Once you’re riding, head towards the Sierra Nevada Natural Park and soak in the beauty of its landscapes. We suggest stopping whenever you need and discovering the charming villages in the area. You can either ride around the park or cross it, returning via the Sierra de Huétor Natural Park.

Route through the Duratón River Gorges

Maybe you’re thinking about a getaway to escape the heat and the stress of the big city. Or perhaps you want to discover new and surprising summer destinations. We recommend giving Castile and León a chance — one of Spain’s most overlooked regions — and especially enjoying Segovia. If you depart from Madrid, you can follow this route: Torrelaguna > El Berrueco > Prádena del Rincón > La Hiruela > Soto de Sepúlveda > Sebúlcor > Pedraza > Puerto de Navafría. If you prefer to start elsewhere, just keep in mind points of interest such as Pedraza or Sebúlcor, right in the heart of the Duratón River Gorges. And if you have extra time, book a kayak tour — you won’t regret it!

Route through Gran Canaria

No, we haven’t forgotten the islands. In fact, we could recommend several routes on each one. But even though it was difficult to choose, we’re going with Gran Canaria and a very special itinerary. With a motorcycle and little else, this island offers endless possibilities. This time, we’ve chosen the route connecting Las Palmas and Arucas, one of its most historic and traditional towns. Along this road — perhaps not the most well-known — you’ll enjoy landscapes you probably wouldn’t expect. Because in the Canary Islands… it’s not all about the beach!

A Portuguese-style route

We’re leaving Spain, but not going too far. Neighbouring Portugal, which we often mention when talking about towels or codfish, is a gem we shouldn’t overlook. Have you ever dreamed of riding the famous Route 66? Yes? Well, Portugal has its own. The National Road 2 crosses the entire country from north to south, from Chaves to Faro, making it the perfect way to truly get to know a country full of surprising landscapes, charming towns, and traditions worth discovering.

Route along the Amalfi Coast

Now yes, we’re heading a bit further away — to one of the most admired summer destinations in the world. And although the physical distance between Spain and Italy is measured in thousands of kilometres, the truth is we are like sister nations. This is another country we would love to explore from top to bottom. But we’re being told we have to choose, so here’s something different. Start in Naples and ride the entire coast until you reach Amalfi, discovering the contrast and seeing first-hand how the towns and landscapes transform along the way. Naples is pure chaos, and before long it gives way to the vastness of the Vesuvius National Park (with stops in Pompeii and Herculaneum almost mandatory). From there, fishing villages alternate with luxury resorts, culminating in one of the most exclusive Mediterranean destinations: Positano. Keep going — trust us — all the way to Amalfi. The beauty of that coastline is unmatched. And the pasta, pizza, desserts… well, you might come back with a little extra luggage.

A Nordic route

We finish in one of Europe’s most legendary places: Nordkapp or the North Cape. It is the northernmost point of the continent and a perfect summer destination. During the rest of the year, ice, snow and freezing temperatures make everything more difficult. Some riders choose to do the trip all the way from Spain, which would mean over 5,000 kilometres on two wheels (paradise, right?). But if you want something lighter, you can always start in Oslo (yes, we know it involves more logistics, bike rental…). From there, head towards Bergen and follow the entire coastline, passing through places like Mo i Rana or Skaidi, until you finally reach your destination.
