SOLIDARITY ON TWO WHEELS

The biker community has once again shown its strength and unity in the face of adversity. The solidarity response from riders following the DANA tragedy, which has affected several regions in Spain, has been exemplary. Motorcyclists who have fully committed to helping those affected have made it clear that solidarity knows no limits. At “NG BRAKES”, we know that two wheels are not only for enjoying speed, but also for doing good and bringing hope to those who need it most.

This tragedy, which has hit a large part of Spain, has left behind enormous damage, but it has also highlighted the great solidarity of society. The response of the biker community has come as no surprise, as this group has always stood out for its sense of brotherhood and its ability to act in times of need. A historic example of this spirit is the legendary Joey Dunlop, who was always involved in charitable activities.

MASSIVE SUPPORT IN VALENCIA

A clear example of this solidarity is the initiative to help those affected by the torrential rains, which began with the action led by Maikel Spa. He was joined by, among others, Berta Doria (from Mujeres Moteras), Cris Moe, Lluís Morales (from Movimoto) and “Subi” (rider Xavier Subirana). Together, they organised a convoy of more than 20 motorcycles to deliver essential supplies, such as food, clothing, medicines and hygiene products, to the most affected areas. What initially seemed like a small initiative quickly turned into a large-scale effort, with many other riders joining in.

THE SPEED OF MOTORCYCLES: A KEY FACTOR IN PROVIDING AID

One of the greatest strengths of biker solidarity is the speed at which motorcycles can reach hard-to-access areas. Thanks to their manoeuvrability, volunteers are able to quickly reach places that other forms of transport cannot access due to flooding. In towns such as Aldaia and Catarroja, motorcycles have been essential for delivering aid and supporting emergency operations.

JOEY DUNLOP: A SYMBOL OF SOLIDARITY

Solidarity among motorcycle enthusiasts is nothing new. One of the greatest examples of generosity is the famous Irish rider Joey Dunlop. Throughout his career, Dunlop was known not only for his racing skills, but also for his unwavering commitment to charitable causes. His work raising funds and helping those in need made him a true icon of solidarity. Today, many of those involved in supporting the victims of the DANA remember Dunlop as a lasting source of inspiration.
